| Walking The Plank |

If you were fortunate enough to walk the wetlands of Prince Edward County, you might see a very similar scene. Commercial fishing once was a way of life here. However, for the Wood Ducks, the boat planks simply provided a place to rest and preen. From the artist's perspective, Mia was intrigued by the study in colour, contrast and form… the brilliance and rounded forms of the waterfowl against the drab, flatness of the boards, and a renewed life in something worn out. On a more whimsical note, the ducks reminded her of pirates 'walking the plank'.
