My very first dog was a field dog. When I was first married we moved to a farm. My husband asked me if I wanted a dog. Of course I did! So down the road we went! Together we bought a six month old, overly friendly Irish Setter. After joining the Irish Setter Club of Ontario, I tried out my Setter at a Fun Field Match. "Ilenja" turned out to be a natural hunter and I was hooked on Upland Game Field Trials. It was there that I came to admire the handsome, German Shorthair, a frequent trial competitor. We eventually acquired a 'solid liver' Shorthair ourselves who was the inspiration for "High Point". Our pet ferret, "Lincoln", inspired me to include the little weasel hidden in the rocks.
