A winter's day on the Bay of Quinte… "I fondly remember my first encounter with 'Max'," said Mia. She had been walking in the park with her two children and their friend. Max, a gentle, big, black Newfoundland was the neighbour's dog. Dave graciously offered the children a sleigh ride. Newfoundland dogs are indigenous to Canada and were one of the breeds featured on Mia's stamp designs released by Canada Post in 1988.
